Patrick Quiery: Thank you for joining today’s ConnectedOps. My name is Patrick Quiery, and I’m a technical product manager at IntelliShift. I’ve been with the company for over six years. My role within IntelliShift is focusing on delivering the best enhancements to the IntelliShift platform. These enhancements come from either industry need, client request, or market gap, in which IntelliShift can implement the feature or product with the goal of driving efficiencies within your organization.

For today’s agenda, we’ll be covering what Operations IQ is to introduce you to the new IntelliShift application. We’ll go into some of the statistics and business challenges that organizations will face when it comes to accessing and leveraging actionable insights that their data can provide. Be sure to stick around, because not only are we going to be talking about operations IQ today, but we have a great new product announcement to reveal on this call. From there, I’ll walk you through operations IQ and provide you with demonstrations on its features. Before our Q&A section, we’ll summarize what operations IQ means for each of your operations. Through our webinar, be sure to utilize the Q&A box to the right of the presentation during your session to ask questions, as we will address them at the end of today’s presentation.

Operations IQ is an app within IntelliShift in which enables our clients the ability to leverage previously siloed data together within a single pane of glass. This provides the ability for organizations to put all of their big data together in one place, giving real-time visibility of powerful analytics that can help put you on the fast track to take actionable insights. For example, companies utilizing Operations Intelligence today have been able to leverage data sets such as utilization of their assets, corporate-wide safety, operations-wide data around routing, job compliance, as well as third-party data sets to help drive some of the most concrete business decisions based on the ability to bring all of this data within a single pane of glass.

With my experience of working with organizations, it’s always been a continual push to consolidate data, but with the consolidation of data and unifying reports often come with some corporate challenges. With organizations having a variety of software applications, business processes increase the amount of sources in which they need to pull data from. These sources of data often reside under individual department resources and business units, and with this consolidation of data, it often requires specialized resources, and without a resource that can align the plan that meets all of the different leaders of an organization, it can draw into a large number of revisions and modifications. The more platforms and data that is looking to be aggregated, it can take a significant amount of time, which can lead into months or years without being able to see results on data.

I want to talk to you about some statistics. Looking at large and small firms, you’re going to notice that there’s a large number of applications that they’re utilizing on a regular basis, starting off with our enterprise firms that nearly 10% of those enterprises are utilizing upwards of 200 applications within their information technology systems. And, for those smaller firms, still an outstanding number, going from 2015 from 53 applications, to last year, utilizing upwards of 70 applications in their business. That just shows how much data there is to consolidate to be able to take actionable insights on your business to help drive further efficiencies. Managing corporate data properly requires multiple steps such as extracting, integrating, cleaning, transforming, loading, and modeling and more. Now, that’s a lot of process, and historically, all of this work has been done by manually coding repetitive tasks which were time-consuming and expensive. I hope to be able to show you through this IntelliShift ConnectedOps on Operations Intelligence today how we can simplify that process for you.

Just to give you an insight of what the structure used to look like before Operations Intelligence, when any time your business infrastructure needed data, whether it was executives, directors, managers, or supervisors, they had to go to many different sources to pull that information. For example, if they wanted to understand how their trucks, trailers, and equipment were utilized, well, they may have to go to three different applications, but that’s just the start of things, because now, if you need to combine that information with operator-based, manual entry data such as how jobs were performed, job site complacency, and much more, they may reside within other platforms such as ERP platforms, CRM platforms, and then that just complicates things even further. But, when you want to bring everything into one holistic platform, you can’t forget about your fuel and maintenance platforms, human resources and accounting, and much more. Well, that’s a lot of places for your business infrastructure leaders to go to make the actionable insights to grow your business.

Let’s take a look at that, of what it looks like after implementing IntelliShift and Operations Intelligence. Now, once again, when your business leaders need to access information regarding their fleet and organization business needs, well, your assets such as your trucks, trailers, equipment and operators, all of that business infrastructure and sensor data can be brought within a single pane of glass within the IntelliShift platform, and then by feeding third party information such as your CRM platform data, ERP data, compliance applications, fuel and maintenance data, human resources and accounting platforms, now your infrastructure has only one single source to be able to pull information from, allowing them to get more actionable insights in a reasonable time.

Now, I have a great product announcement that I want to bring to you here today, and it’s not about Operations IQ, but the data feeds within Operations IQ to enhance your business infrastructure, efficiencies, and optimizations. And that announcement is on Video AI. I want you guys to all stick around and join into Ryan Wilkinson’s, our CTO’s, session on Video AI, where he’ll take a deep dive into this new, enhanced product to get you better visibilities than you’ve ever had before around in-cab video solutions. To give you a brief description on what this is, Video AI is an enhanced video experience that provides IntelliShift with an in-cab video solution providing the capability to now include driver distraction features, forward collision warnings, as well as a 360-degree view of the in-cab video. Video AI is able to provide a better company safety experience by providing the ability to identify severity levels of events, coach operators, and exceptions as well as overall safety within the organization, and this is all handled by the AI, or artificial intelligence, and ML, machine learning, firmware and hardware that is built into this technology. So, once again, be sure to stick around for that and learn, in detail, how Video AI is going to be able to help your organization.

As part of the demonstration today, I want to bring you into Operations Intelligence. Operations Intelligence, you’re going to notice you’re going to have your data points on the left-hand side. These are the various applications you’re subscribed to, and the various data sources in which you’re bringing data into the IntelliShift platform. By clicking into any of these points, you’re going to be able to see the vast majority of information that you have access to. For example, within Silent Passenger, you’re going to see information around asset activity, whether it’s around how your assets are being driven, the hours that an asset is being used, the miles that they’ve driven, and much more metrics as well.

As we dive into other things, you’re going to see information around engine diagnostics, safety, and then by being able to bring in additional metrics onto this dashboard is done with a single click. So, by clicking any of the important data points, I can go ahead and add these into the platform, and now all of these captured from various points of the IntelliShift platform. So, Silent Passenger being telematics, vehicle service could be handled from our in-solution vehicle service module, or even your third-party vehicle service platform, where you can see various data sets around service jobs and much more.

Going into inspections, IntelliShift has a mobile inspection application called IntelliShift Inspect where you can keep track of all of your mobile inspections and mobile form complacency around your asset is doing around multiple functionalities, as well around various solutions that help maintain your company compliance, such as our hours of service, or ELD mandate solution that IntelliShift complies with. All of this data is available to you at the touch of your fingertips. The backend infrastructure has been built to allow you to simply just click data and have those metrics loaded up within this particular dashboard. So, by selecting the metrics that I want to see, I can drive that particular information into this to allow me to drive those actionable insights that I need.

By clicking at the top, I can easily access previous reports and I can go ahead and hit “add report” to be able to create a new, custom dashboard with specific metrics. And here, I can go ahead and name this particular dashboard. Let’s call it “Operational Data.” I can specific what part of my organization I want it to be on, and then I can report my particular period. Now, the importance of this Operations IQ is it’s all about big data, right? So, even though we’re only looking at a small segment of this infrastructure here today, it’s going to allow you to expand much further on the capabilities that you have by being able to look at year-over-year metrics, month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and much more.

So, as we go through, you’re going to notice that I’m going to be adding additional metrics to this particular dashboard, giving me visibility into how assets are being utilized, and some of those metrics are going to be around miles that the asset drives, how many assets were considered utilized, and then I’m also adding in various parts of the other infrastructures, whether it’s around safety, to understand how my assets are being utilized with harsh braking events, which may lead to bigger service costs, higher insurance premiums, and I can see that information there.

Now, by clicking on any of the graph icons at the top of each metric will give you the ability to control how you want that metric to be displayed on the dashboard. You also have the ability from the drop-down to select how you want that data to be summarized or aggregated within this dashboard as well to drive very specific metrics that are going to get you, the business leaders, the actionable insights that you need.

So, you’re going to be able to see here how I can easily control how the visualization of this particular data set works, whether I want it in a bar graph, line graph, and even down to specific colors, and then I can identify particular styles and widths so I can have the data represented in my perfect manner that is most important to me. Now, as I configure this data, any time you hover over any of those data points as well will give you the ability to see the resolution period. The resolution period is the indication that gives you the ability to understand data at that particular time for all of your data sets on this particular dashboard, so I can go ahead and gain those actionable insights. We’ll talk more about that, though. As soon as I save that data, you’ll notice that I have that available to me now within my reports on the left-hand side of each graph, and once again, as I hover over these resolution periods, you’re going to see each of those aggregated metrics for each resolution period.

Now, we’re going to go into our first created report today, which is our asset utilization. Similar to operational data, this is going to be able to help me understand how my assets are being utilized by understanding the number of stops that they make on average, the average number of drive time, and also summary of miles driven. This gives me the ability to understand how assets are being utilized can affect my business. For example, this is just a data set that’s captured within the IntelliShift platform today, but now being able to bring in sales data via an API or an upload of an Excel or CSD file, you can now layer data in multiple layers beyond just the IntelliShift platform, where I can understand a dozen more stops that my asset makes, the more time we spend on the road, does it equal more revenue for our business? Are those decisions that we’re making giving us the actionable information that I need to say, “Let’s continue, let’s push harder”? Or, is it saying for us, “Let’s cut back, let’s revisit this”? And, I’m going to be able to gain all of that information within the Operations Intelligence dashboard.

Going onto our third metric is around excessive fuel, and in this case, I’m labeling this around our distribution branch. So, I’m looking at average amount of idle time, average number of stops made, and the number of assets driven. This gives me the ability to identify certain areas within my organization that may have a higher burn rate than other branches within the organization. I can now look at this data and then dive in deeper to gain actionable insights on where within the platform I can learn to make fuel cost effectiveness by leveraging the IntelliShift platform, fuel data, and the utilization of assets to make sure that I understand where money could be saved and be invested somewhere else to drive further efficiencies, further optimization, as well. And, you can see here, once again, any time I hover over any of those data points on the graph, I’m going to be able to understand how those assets were being utilized at that time.

And, it’s just as simple to change your Operations Intelligence on the fly. So, in real-time, I can go ahead and go up to the top of the dashboard and change how I want that data to be displayed, whether it’s from average to summary, average to max, I can gain that actionable insights that I need. So, here you can see I changed from average of stops made to the total sum of stops, and I can see out of my whole distribution branch, I can see they’re making over 13,000 stops over this particular time period, from the 6th to the 8th, but once again, your reporting periods that you see along the X-axis of this graph here will change based upon the period that you’re reporting on. So, whether I’m looking at one month of data, six months of data, a quarter of data, or a year of data, it will represent data in a different way to me, giving me the ability to understand how assets are being utilized over various periods.

Now, most people love this topic, it’s around safety: how is my organization doing with safety? So, it doesn’t matter if I have six metrics on the dashboard or two, I can go ahead and simply add more metrics to the dashboard by understanding and clicking any of those metrics there. So, it’s just with a single click, I can go ahead and add new metrics to this particular dashboard. I can go ahead and choose the styling of that new metric as I’ve shown you before. For example, I can easily make the number of assets utilized a different style completely so I can easily compare and contrast how the data affects each other. So, I can see how many miles were driven, to the number of assets used, to the sum of total harsh braking events. Now, we all know harsh braking events are the most severe of the acceleration events out there, right? The more harsh braking events that you have, the more susceptible your fleet is to accidents or certain safety risks that happen when operating an asset. So, you have the ability to gain this actionable insight just by simply clicking and bringing data into it and being able to extract and make those actionable insight data decisions by being able to visualize the data month-over-month, to understand how your organization, in this case, is being effective with safety initiatives for your organization.

Now, in this case, if I wanted to change the resolution period, I could go ahead and simply click at the top, and I could adjust the date. So, once again, talking about the on-the-fly flexibility that this has, I have the ability to adjust the date and timeframes that I want to look at. So, maybe that month where the data wasn’t enough for me, now I can look at month-over-month over the last six months’ of data to understand how the data is being utilized within my organization. Now, here, instead of just looking at a day-to-day metric, I can see all of the data summarized to the resolution of July or August or September to gain those visual insights on how data is being utilized. So, I can see here, for the month of September, we had 39,000 harsh braking events and many more miles than that.

Lastly, Video AI. We talked about it a little bit in the beginning of this ConnectedOps presentation, but I want to bring you some of the first insights here. So, being able to take Video AI, you can bring those video events into the IntelliShift platform, allowing you to gain actionable insights on all of the Video AI events that are able to be captured. To bring you up to speed, Video AI has a driver distraction module which captures video footage of the operator and particular operator behaviors to detect distracted driving, cell phone utilization, driver fatigue, and much more, and it also has AI in a road-facing camera to understand how your operator is engaging with the road and the people around them.

Being able to identify following too close, lane departure warnings, as well as any potential forward-collision warnings or pedestrian warnings as well could all be integrated and pulled into the Operations IQ to give you that full, 360-degree view of how your assets are being utilized within one single dashboard for your business. And, once again, being able to take in information, maybe in this case you want to be able to take in information around insurance information, right, how much insurance payouts have been made, how many insurance claims you’ve had, how many tickets you’ve included over these particular periods as well, really get a fuller picture around how your organization is doing around your fleet metrics. So, you really have the capability to choose the information that’s most important to your business and you’re going to be able to choose how you want that information to be displayed to you to get the most actionable insights out of your information.

So, let’s summarize. What does the Operations Intelligence mean for our potential customers and current customers alike? Well, consuming data sets from internal and external data sources, being able to report it on daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly, whether you’re going to be provided the ability to compare KPIs, or key performance indicators, together to leverage data, you’re going to be able to bring in third-party data to be ingested by IntelliShift in a simple and easy way to integrate that data, and the ultimate outcome you’re going to get of this is you’re going to be able to reduce the time spent by trying to consolidate reporting needs and measurements against business objectives. You’re going to get visibility of trending data to provide fluid decision making. You’re going to be able to bring all of the divisions of your business operations together with the ability to gain insights into data that they previously wouldn’t have had access to. Now, I want to say thank you for everyone joining on today’s Operations IQ of ConnectedOps by IntelliShift.

I look forward to your Q&A section, and once again, it’s not too late to utilize the Q&A box to the right of this presentation to ask your questions live, as we’ll be going ahead shortly to answer those questions. I thank you again for joining IntelliShift’s ConnectedOps on Operations Intelligence.
